Follow this link for information Join Bird Protection Quebec Founded in 1917, the Society (up until 2005 known as the Province of Quebec Society for the Protection of Birds / Société de protection des oiseaux ) is the oldest organisation of birders in Quebec and amongst the oldest in North America. The mission of the Society is to promote and support the awareness, appreciation, understanding and protection of birds and their habitats. It runs regular weekly guided field trips, monthly lectures, organises courses, publishes a journal for members, owns and manages bird reserves and is generally a good thing to be involved with. The umbrella organisation for birding studies and activities - including plenty of oppoprtunities for getting involved in citizen science projects is Bird Studies Canada The American Birding Association is the main organisation for active birders in North America and the best source for information and up-to-date materials for the serious lister.
